Japan is on the Adidas beckenbauer map, especially with the release of the Chapter Express x Adidas Decade Hi W, which is a collaborative effort between Adidas and Tokyo-based shoe retailer Chapter Express. The Decade comes in two colorways: black and white, and uses full nubuck and leather uppers, respectively. The black pair features a black nubuck upper with blue, pink, and yellow contrasts on the stripes, tongue, perforated side panel, and outsole. The white pair is quite different, with a white leather upper and contrasting rainbow design on the stripes, tongue tag, and laces. The side panel features a special rainbow pearl tre-foil design, making this pair of sneakers stand out.

This simple and well-put-together sneaker model is available for purchase now from the adidas SLVR store at a price of $170.Adidas Originals is always bringing the heat back from the past, Adidas boston this time, taking some flavor from the 80 s and putting it into the Adidas Originals Women s FRM MID523TKO. This Adidas Forum Mid screams old school, with its clean white canvas base atop a white midsole, along with bright highlighter colors on the toe, strap, and inner lining. These shoes got it goin on, especially at a price $160. Slowly but surely, the Adidas Nizza silhouette is becoming more and more popular. Thus, it was a no-brainer to put plaid together with the shoe to make it even more appealing. Now, the Adidas Nizza Hi comes in two plaid colorways: grey/black/white and red/black/white. Both shoes use narrow white vulcanized midsoles, especially for the grey pair, which uses a lighter base. The grey pair uses a grey/black plaid wool upper, whereas the other uses a red/black one. They are nicely contrasted by leather panels and a convenient ankle Adidas basketball tab.
Each pair is available for about $107 online.The adidas Nizza High has been gaining a lot of attention recently. During the summer we saw what Mark Gonzales did with the silhouette. Now, adidas has dropped another two Nizza Highs. The first one pictured here comes in an almost entirely white colorway with very few black accents. The second pair we're reporting on comes in a military green colorway and has some gum material accents near the toe box and sole. If your local adidas retailers don't have these in stock, you can definitely try your luck with certain online retailers that might have you covered- but for how long no one knows.
The Diesel brand has for some years now been growing in popularity- due in large part to a clothing line that includes sleek sneaker designs cool enough to rock at school or in the club. 55DSL is Diesel s younger, lifestyle arm and plans to celebrate its own 15th anniversary in a huge way. 55DSL will be taking over 15 Diesel stores across the U.S. and selling different pieces from its fall/winter of 2009 men s collection. ÿþAlthough ASIC3 seems to predominate in the converse white mediation of pain signals from the periphery, ASIC1 or composite ASIC1/2 channels may have a more important role in pain sensation in the central nervous system (CNS). ASICs are expressed in the CNS in multiple locations including hippocampus, hypothalamus, midbrain, and cerebellum ( 6 , 215 , 274 , 307 ). While not all of these locations are involved in pain sensing, it is likely that ASICs identified in neurons of the dorsal horn are responsible for integrating peripheral pain signals before transmission to the cortex ( 32 ).
Studies of ASIC1 in mice have implicated it in synaptic plasticity, learning, and memory formation (409 411). In the CNS, the protein appears to localize with the postsynaptic density-95 protein (PSD-95), which likely targets ASIC1 to areas of high synaptic density ( 409 , 410 ). Behavioral tests of mice overexpressing ASIC1 found increased acquired fear related behavior ( 411 ), while ASIC1 knockout mice converse black showed a deficit in cued and contextual fear conditioning ( 409 ), suggesting that perhaps ASIC1 could play a role in anxiety or fear learning. Interestingly, it has recently been reported that decreased brain pH resulting from hypercarbia also elicits fear in mice, a behavioral response that is attenuated by ASIC1 knockout ( converse high tops 442 ).
Studies using in vitro and in vivo models of Huntington's disease showed that the use of amiloride or short hairpin RNA directed against ASIC genes was able to reduce the impact of the disease ( 415 ). The authors showed that reducing ASIC1 or ASIC2 function or expression led to an increase in the activity of the ubiquitin-proteasome system and showed a decrease in the toxic aggregation of huntingtin-polyglutamine ( 415 ). The chemical inhibitor and ASIC1 knockdown might suggest this could be due solely to calcium conductance capabilities of ASIC1, but similar results were found with knockdown of ASIC2, which is known to form converse black high tops calcium-impermeable channels ( 219 , 415 ).
Still, this work is promising and suggests a role for ASICs in this disease and possibly other CNS diseases where protein aggregation leads to neuronal death.Increased activity of ASICs has been implicated in both epilepsy and Parkinson's disease. Chemically induced seizures in rats are associated with a decrease in extracellular pH ( 351 ), likely due to efflux of lactic acid into the extracellular space. This raised the possibility that ASICs could be involved during seizure activity. Using pilocarpine to induce status epilepticus, Biagini et al. ( 45 ) found that the message level for ASIC2b was quickly (within 15 min), significantly, and persistently (sustained for at least 24 h) decreased in the hippocampus.
These results suggest the involvement of ASIC1 in neuronal loss, but the relative nonspecificity of the agents used suggests that these data should be interpreted with caution. However, a role for ASIC2a in Parkinson's disease has emerged from studies of parkin , an E3 ubiquitin ligase that is mutated in genetically related autosomal recessive Parkinson's disease. One target of parkin appears to be PICK1 (protein interacting with C kinase 1), a protein that binds to the COOH-terminal PDZ motif of ASIC1 and ASIC2 ( 110 , 182 ), and which potentiates ASIC-related currents ( 31 , 184 ).

Using a genetic murine model of colon cancer, the heterozygous APC Min/ mouse, Ousingsawat et al. ( 293 ) found that expression of ±²³ENaC was increased in the distal colon, which corresponded to an increase in sodium absorption.
