I ran the Party Shout for 10 minutes with AutoShout set to 3 min. Here's what I found (channels listed in order they were selected):
With Say and Guild channels selected, shout only appeared in Say channel. With Guild and Say channels selected, shout only appeared in Guild channel. With Guild and Zone channels selected, shout only appeared in Guild channel. With Say, Guild and Zone channels selected, shout only appeared in Say and Guild channel.
So it appears that the shout is not being sent to the last channel selected.
I downloaded an older v221, so that I could compare your re-written code to the originals, as I had never used GroupInvite before v2.3. My thoughts are listed below:
1. I've used the v802 for five days, and for several dailys raids and have not had any problems. I haven't noticed any increase in crashes (beyond the normal RoM crashes) 2. Nobody has complained about the !prefix, so I'm not sure what the issue is with it, or even what the !prefix is supposed to do. 3. Yes, the Fly sound is horrible and could indeed drive one insane. 4. I like the layout of the pages in v802 much better. Some of the settings locations were changed from v221 and I think this may have confused some people. 5. However, I like the Manager toolbar from v221 better. Mainly due to it's smaller size and it uses 2 button sizes. Would there be a way to change the size or have it scalable in v802?
I d/l the 815 build to see if there were any differences in my FPS Rate. Both the 802 and 815 builds reduce my FPS by 4 frames when the config frame is open, so no difference for me. The pages also seemed to open and close slightly faster, but now several of the pages shift on the screen when they are first displayed. This didn't happen in the 802 build. The Interface Settings, Party Leader Search, and Group Save now have the page shift, which I find more annoying than the slightly slower load times of the 802 build, but I guess you can't please everybody.
The 815 build also has the same issue with the Party Shout in multiple channels. Only the first channel selected displays the shout, nothing displays in the other channels.
I've uploaded a new EN file (yes, I changed the text back to Manager first )
I'm having an issue with the group shout in the chat channels. If I have 2 channels selected (for example, Say and Guild) one of the channels does not get a shout. It seems to only send in the channel I select first. I have not tried it with 3 or 4 channels selected, or to see if the keywords are being monitored when additional channels are selected.
I found several spelling errors, so I've attached an updated EN file for GroupInvite v2.3.802. I've also tried to clarify the minimap tooltip and some general semantics issues.
I guess I didn't read the tooltips Although I would probably have changed the wording for the minimap tooltip to clarify this point.
Some issues I've found:
1. The color specified in the "Special" option only affects the Keyword text, the Group name still displays in the chat color, and the number for available spaces displays in a totally different color.
2. My map is in the upper right corner, when I use the minimap button, the tooltip extends off the screen and will not switch to displaying to the lower left of the icon.
3. When the pop-up menu tree on configuration screen is toggled to stay on (flipping the arrow), if you left-click either the minimap or Addonmanager button, the pop-up menu stays visible when the config screen closes. If you use the X in upper right of config window, the arrow flips back and everything closes normally.
In general, you are now trying to create an addon that addresses three different functions. Party Shout - the follow-on to ComeOnIn Saved Groups - Similar to Invite Last Group, but more functionality Guild Recruiter - Guild Ads and News
I think that most people will use the Reload function to mimic the functionality of Invite Last Group, so a slight design change to the minimap mouse-over and rt-click layout to include this would be a good place to start. Invite Last Group had this added to the rt-click drop-down menu of your portrait, but I don't see any advantage to this over using the minimap button.
Those are some of my initial thoughts, I'd like to hear what other people think.
I'm really impressed with all of the functionality you've been able to incorporate into this addon.
No problem, I just thought I was doing something wrong. It's not a big deal to re-enter the groups for the few characters that I play, and especially if nobody else has ever requested it.
I've tried using the group save/reload functions, and each time I reload a group the difficulty gets reset to Easy even if I had it set to Normal when I formed the group. I can't find any way to add the minimap icon. I have AddonManager, so the button is deactivated. Addonmanager only controls its own toolbar buttons. For the Party Shout, can you add an option for changing the color of just the group name and keyword, instead of the entire shout? Do you have any plans to add a feature similar to InviteLastGroup where a rt-clk on the characters portrait had the Save/Kick/Reload options?
I also cleaned up the EN language file and posted it in the translations forum. (I forgot to change the Manager title before I posted it. I changed it to say GroupInvite, so you can change it back if you want)
I just started using GroupInvite with this latest version 2.3.802, before this I have been using ComeOnIn. My question is about the Party Shout groups, which are saved per character. Is there a way to transfer the saved groups between characters. It looks like the Loaded Lists page might work for this because the tooltip describes sending and managing lists, but all I get is the page for loaded lists. I can't find any way to send a list between characters.
